PicBook

PicBook produces a photo album of your images in HTML format. It will automatically process images, create transition effects and other nifty stuff. It is easy to customise due to a configuration file and HTML-templates and Styles.

There are basically two types of HTML picture presentation programs.

• CGI based programs require a web server whenever you want to do anything with your pictures.
• Static programs, like PicBook, create html pages which can be put on a CD, a Web Server, or wherever you wish.

• Creates static HTML presentation of pictures in a frameset with Index, navigation, picture, and description frames
• Creates text only version of slide show
• Includes customizable timer for automatic slide show
• Resizes image for optimal viewing on screen and links to the original image
• Supports different layouts by using Templates and Styles
• Supports audio files

Platforms

Since, PicBook is a Bourne-Shell script it should run on any UNIX or Linux machine. Windows should work with cygwin.

Requirements

grep and awk which should be available on most systems. Additionally it needs convert and identify of the ImageMagick package to handle images. jhead is optional for some advanced functionality.
