August 31 - September 31
We took a few weeks to travel around New England
The Magic Fluke Sheffield, MA
These instruments were colorful but built from parts.
This is the actual church that Alice and Ray lived in on that fateful Thanksgiving day.
Outside the Norman Rockwell Museum
Rockwell Museum
Stockbridge Massachusetts
It was hot that day.
The Berkshire "cottages" were an escape from the city.
Edith Wharton's summer home
The formal gardens were not extensive but were organized to give many views.
There was art throughout the estate.
What are we going to do with this old factory building? I know let's make it an art gallery.
The galleries in this place are huge.
Clark Art Museum Williamstown MA
This was a good exhibit, they had works from almost all periods of his career.
He had other styles of work but I liked these.
Funky but kind of cool
This is a typical 19th century industrial story. Mr. Proctor made it rich, the men who worked in his quarries made a living. The town now is struggling to servive.
The most popular shot in all of Burlington VT but mostly done at night.
On the Mall in Burlington
A cute town if you ever get near by.
We spent the night in the van, for free, behind the town hall.
Very nice. We didn't stay there but we did try to eat there but without reservations, no dice.
We stopped at the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park which was very nice. Lots of nice trails (carriage roads really).
Salem Massachusetts
Salem was kind of interesting. Different than Boston but not really.
We got there after the place closed but these guys came out to great us.
This is where the humans lived who owned the pigs. Newbury MA.
Rye Harbor New Hampshire
This place was very nice but the crowds were thick.
We stayed at a HarvestHost that was a mini-golf business. Along with letting us stay there for the night they gave us a free round of mini-golf - Saco ME
Just south of Portland, ME
We had a charcuterie board at a hotel downtown where you could look out over the city. "Top of the East"
Sometimes you gotta go with what you got.
One of the nicer spots in Portland ME
It was a rainy and cloudy day but we walked around the lake. I bet it was really nice 100 years ago.
I just kind of liked this print.
